Session 9: Cadence & Lead-Out Practice
Friday 28th Nov 6:00 am to 7:00 am - Meet at Heffron Park
This session focuses on high-cadence control and sprint execution. Riders will complete six 1-minute efforts at 110 rpm, each followed by 1 minute of easy spinning, and finish with a lead-out train into a sprint. Drills include slaloming through cones to practice high-cadence cornering and a slow-race challenge where the last rider over the line wins. Scientifically, high cadence improves neuromuscular coordination and pedalling efficiency, while lead-out practice enhances teamwork and sprint timing. The session helps riders gain control at speed, build cornering confidence, and master the timing needed for effective sprint finishes.
