Session 7: Breakaway vs Chase Simulation
Friday 21th Nov 6:00 am to 7:00 am - Meet at Heffron Park
This session simulates race dynamics with twelve 30/30 intervals—30 seconds at Zone 6 followed by 30 seconds easy—before splitting the group into breakaway and chase teams for a 10-minute tactical effort. Drills include a gentle bumping exercise to build comfort with shoulder contact and a track stand challenge to improve balance. Physiologically, the 30/30s enhance anaerobic repeatability and resilience under fatigue, while the bumping drill develops stability. The session boosts tactical awareness and rider confidence, ensuring that light contact or sudden pace changes won’t disrupt performance.
