2011 Club Membership Forms - for New Members only
2011 Membership is valid from now.
The Sydney Cycling Club welcomes new members. For information about joining or riding with the Club refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page. More information can be obtained by contacting one of the committee members listed on the Contacts page. Guest riders are welcome, but before joining the bunch rides you are requested to sign a Liability Waiver available from the Club Secretary.
The essential criterion for membership in the Club is to be a keen road cyclist, with a well set up and maintained road bike, and to have the appropriate cycling gear (cleats, helmet, jersey, knicks). A reasonable level of fitness is also required - as an indicator, club rides roll along at upwards of 30 kph over distances of 50 km to 180 km.
The average Club member is an experienced road cyclist, between the ages of 30 to 50 years, but we have some younger and older members. The Sydney Cycling Club caters for a limited number of less experienced cyclists with periodic intakes during the year. In the interests of bunch safety, less experienced cyclists are taken through skills sessions with the Club Captain.
Skills sessions are usually held early on a Saturday morning, approximately monthly. A booklet on bunch etiquette and riding tips - "How to Stay on Your Bike and Friends with the Bunch" is made available to new members upon joining the Club.
Annual membership costs cover both Club subscription and mandatory affiliation to Cycling Australia through Cycling NSW. The membership year runs from 1st January – 31st December regardless of when one joins. The membership fee is discounted for the six month period from 1st July. Full racing affiliation allows riders to compete in Opens as well as club events.
