Interested in getting into cycling but not sure where to start? Are long and large bunch rides daunting or do you just want to improve your skills? Our orientation ride, free to new members, is geared towards new riders, riders with light experience, and riders who have never ridden in a club atmosphere.
The route followed is customised to the majority standard of the group. It's a “no drop” ride, meaning that we periodically stop and regroup all riders back together - no one is left behind.
The rides are designed to provide an introduction into “bunch etiquette and techniques” without pressure. They typically incorporate easy laps of Centennial Pk with no traffic as well as optional time out on the roads.
Prior to rolling out there will be a quick instructional class. We discuss how to ride safely, ride in a group and rules of the road. During the ride, at various intervals, the group will pause for further tips where you have an opportunity to ask questions. At the end of the ride, we catch up for that all important coffee/tea and brekky and opportunity to meet other club members and organise that next ride!
Following the introductory ride, you can book in for further training or join one of Sydney Cycling Clubs various distance rides and tours. All rides are graded so you can comfortably ride with other members at your level and pace!Interested in getting into cycling but not sure where to start?
